The largest fashion arrivals tested in ship windows while fashion garments met with the consumers on shops' goods shelves.

Shanghai International Fashion Culture Festival, one of local commercial galas become a powerhouse to boost the city's market in terms of 14 sales campaigns in 18 districts and countries. The sales turnover of garment sector resulted from the overall sales promotion in September, 1996 amounted to RMB 1.4 billion, a 10.1% increase than it of the previous years, of which the daily commodities in 17 supermarkets hit RMB 412 million accounting for 42.73%, and a 33.5% increase in garments and shoes sectors.
